What's this? A journal entry?

Tue Aug 18, 2009, 10:10 PM
BTW, the new year's resolution was to do a little drawing on Tegaki E [link] every day. Yeah. That didn't last very long. I haven't touched it since I wrote that journal. :P

Anyway, Threshwood. [link] It's a forest in the not-so magical land that's been rattling around in my head. The idea being that there was once magic in this world but for one reason or another, it slowly disappeared. The Threshwood is one of the few remaining places that holds true magical power. Of course, nature abhors a vacuum and so other magical things are trying to move in and take over, some of them not so benevolent. Over time, an alliance was formed between various peoples to protect this world from the unpleasant stuff trying to get in. They aren't doing so well and they know it.

The focus of this thing that wants to be a comic but might end up just being a plain old novel instead, are three sisters who live next to Threshwood and how they get caught up in a fight to save the world. The logo that I'm working on involves the sisters but I'll leave it up to you to figure out how exactly that goes.

Nothing particularly new or ground breaking as far as the general storyline but hopefully I can develop some interesting character twists and things to make it, at the very least, interesting enough to get people to read the entire thing whatever form it ends up taking.

I love the lines... They make me feel incredibly tranquil—like following the path of a labyrinth for meditation.

Design can be art. Design can be aesthetics. Design is so simple, that's why it is so complicated.
